Any players? How does herb affect your play?

it's funny you mention this because for the past week my buddies and i have been having some intense poker/bake sessions haha. i enjoy it, i think it makes it alot more fun and i doesnt render my decision stupid like alcohol does. highly recommended!!

I've only been slightly buzzed while playing, but even that makes it nearly impossible to bs (bluff) me. Plan on going to Vegas in a couple weeks and getting myself stoned (got a few to choose from...not sure if sativa/hybrid or indica would be the best...but maybe I'll find out. Either that or I'll stay in my room for 2 days) and seeing how it works. I'm a pretty serious (and good) player. I play the CA casinos more for fun, but LV will be all business. Yeah...alcohol makes me play sheriff too much. "yer fulla crap! I'm all-in!" Maybe herb will get me using my mind rather than my (guts). I play in a home game with the father of someone you'd know from tv (no herb there!), so I've met and played a lot of the "tv players".

i can understand that, its different for me, i get all into the game whenever im stoned, im just super chill and extremely focused :) me and some buddies are headed to the vallsview casino and canada in a couple weeks. thats crazy that you've met alot of tv players, who all have you played with and better yet, who have you beaten haha?

Well...most of the one's I played against were in Phil Ivey's charity tournament in 08'. $1000 buy-in, which is all I was spending. Turns out I had NO chance. Not because I can't hang with their game (I absolutely know I can...been playing for 40+ years), but because they all went all-in every single hand and then rebought, since it was for charity. It reached a point where I would've folded AA (before the rebuy period ended) just because it was such a wild party I didn't want to leave. Negraneau kept buy rounds of different things (mostly Patron...which is *ok*, but I'm a tequila snob), and he and Ivey were hammered. (I know they don't do this in a *real* tourny). Eventually I wound up all-in with the best hand, but Matasow sucked out. Every table had celebs, but mine was the one everyone wanted to be at since it was Ivey's tourny. I was the only one nobody knew, but given my tablemates, they must've figured I was *somebody*.:rolleyes: This was my table. Seat #1) John Pham, 2) ? 3) Beth Shak, 4) me, 5) David Oppenheim, 6) Ivey (Opie & Ivey were betting $20k/flop on the side:eek:) 7) The Mouth 8) Negraneau (whom I got to call my teenage daughter. He told her: "Hey! Your Dad owes me $75k!") 9) Irv Gotta (hip-hop producer. People were just blown away that I didn't realize I was in the presence of such greatness.:rolleyes:) 10) some rapper (not into rap). Fun time. So many drinks were handed my way that I just would hand it back over my head and *someone* in the crowd would drink it.

Oh, it was. I think anyone can play. It's usually right before the WSOP ME starts. Big pool party at the Shark Tank at the Golden Nuggest for Full Tilt. Very bizarre scene (for me). Everyone in the poker world was there, along with other celebs and Vegas biggies like Teller, and me.:) "Who *is* that guy??" People pressed against the glass looking in. I got invited last year, but couldn't sneak $1k past the wife. Maybe this year. I'll probably play $70-$300 range tournies in 2 weeks. Probably Caesars. Someone on a poker forum said that if you smoke herb in your hotel the cops would come.:confused: I could see if you were having a raging kegger, but if you just did a couple bong-hits how would anyone know?

btw- was just in NYC. Originally from 60mi N of you. Came to San Diego in 83' on vacation...and never left. (Although I LOVE NYC, and if I had tons-o$ I'd be bi-coastal.)
