Well outdoors 09 has been rough, at least in my area. I saw alot of crops taken early this year due to high humidity and rain. Rot and mold were the biggest issues this year. Insects were not that bad. I didnt have to take any measures against infestation this year. All in all still a good year. Too wet but good. Here is a pic of this years crop (not the whole thing of course) dried for a week, cured now for about 3 weeks maybe a little more...hmm never mind the manage attachments button is doing the same thing as the button that is used to attach them so that needs to be fixed I guess.

I had "loss" but glad to hear it was still a good season.

I am in the process of figuring out why pics cannot be uploaded. Should be working later today.

Sounds like we live in the same region. First we had a freak rain in the middle of sept, then high humidity. and then 11 inches of rain on one day on the day after Columbus day. I had to take some pretty drastic measures including having a light and fans outside!!! Keep in mind I live in a redwood forest and the direct sunlight got down to about 3 hours a day right after Labor Day. Then when the rain came in the middle of sept everything got moved into the workshop. Finished them for the last 45 days inside. Good thing I used huge pots rather then putting them right into the ground. WEIRD YEAR ALRIGHT. I will post pics to show you when that feature is fixed!:

Ok so I still cant post pictures on here but Im not willing to give up on this post just yet. Im sure Chubbs will get the problem solved soon. So anyway, how was everyone else's outdoor experience in 2009? I have been planning next years grow since I got this years grow in the ground, looks like autoflowers for me next year. Has anyone done any of these outdoors? I have seen some pretty decent UK grows outside of autos but none from the US or Canada. i figure since they grow so fast that I will start them early for my first run of autos, which will be a seed crop. if that goes as planned i will have a shit load of seeds and not have to buy them any more. It sucks having to pay for the medication that keeps you alive, its wrong. Anyway, hope to get some replies the grow section hasnt exactly exploded with activity yet..:)

Don't get autoflowerers!

If you're going to devote time into growing, do it right, and with the proper genetics! You may have to wait almost twice as long for the harvest, but it will be worth it!

Spend the extra 10 minutes a day caring for your bud, research some growing tips/tricks, use good soil/nutes, and be patient (no pun intended).

I have grown outdoors for many years and I know the advantages to growing regular strains. Its just that my situation has changed in my area and where I grow the crops in the fields are being taken earlier in the year so i need something that will finish before the end of august. it will take many more plants to get a normal yield, but i have seen what autos can do outside and if grown with care they can produce some potent medicine. plus with selective breeding over the years you can make just about anything autoflowering, just takes time and love...so your not really held back by variety at all, only your patience.

Nice but this is an outdoor post not a half and half post. lol never seen someone use lights on their outdoor plants, they get plenty of light, much higher quality light that that hps. if they get 8 hours of light they can easily get big gooey buds. the more the better but 8 hours of direct sun is fine if the rest is filtered then it will still grow good...mine were getting up to 10 hours of direct sun at times and grew fn huge, they always do, im jsut saying i see no need for a light when growing outdoors....but you did say it was raining alot in your area too right? i just thought of that...mine go in the ground so i cant move them like that, would be hard carrying around a 7 foot talll white rhino, would be all sticky and stinking after that move.... oh yeah pictures, most of my rhino is smoked up now i still have an old pic from when i first tried to show them. ill take some of the buds i have left...15

i wish this rhino could have gone 2 more weeks, but i had to take it due to farmers harvesting earlier than usual. still is some great medicine, great body high, will put you one the couch if you smoke too much though.

Well here is the problem I was down to about three hours of Direct sunlight a day because the sun was down below the 180' tall redwood trees and I didn't want to bring them indoors to finish so I did that. But in the long run we had a big rain in the third week of Sept and I ended up bringing them inside anyways! To finish properly ....

You gotta do what ya gotta do! They would have just stayed outside and molded if I had not have taken drastic measures.

I was kinda wondering about that, first time I have seen that before. Whatever works, and from the pics it looks like it's working just fine.

this year was my first grow, well sorta i started reeaallly late so i just made it a practice run with three clones and three bagseed. the clones are about 2 months and the light cycle forced flowering already :( but whatever i'll at least have something right!
