whats the deal with LED grow lights such as the stealth grow lights are they good supposedly they produce higher yields while reducing electricity and light emitted heat? does any one have any experience growing with these and any thoughts?

led can veg but they cant flower worth shit so yeah that covers it. don't trust niggas trying to sell you shit thats why theres still a hype behind led. If everyone knew they sucked people would quit wasting money on em.

I'm not gonna say they all suck, but most of em' do. They certainly don't replace HID lighting for flowering yet, unless you have banks of them burning. I think they are going to be very good supplemental lighting for flowering along side of HID lights, I have a 120 watt ufo I'm using for that now, and will be able to tell ya more in another 5 to 6 weeks. I think the blue ones would be good for vegging alone, or the mixed colored ones like the one I have.
I believe that when they get them dialed in properly , they are gonna revolutionize and completely change indoor growing, but they are a long way from that right now. The changing from 1 watt diodes to 3 watt diodes has made a big difference in how well they work, but still fall way short of growing big crystally buds.
If you are just starting out growing, or thinking of trying to change all your lighting to these, I wouldn't do it yet.Stick to the industry standard, which is still MH for veg HPS for flower.

Well this thread answered my question. It's just sad that I will be forced to use horribly inefficient light sources on my first grow and will probably pay ~150-200 in electric fees.

I'm only speaking from experience of growing 1 indoor plant but I think if you were considering using LEDs you might as well just use CFL Daylight bulbs (I'm not saying this is better than using HPS). The only problem that I had with the CFLs was that I had to keep the bulbs super close to the plant but it wasn't a big deal to adjust the light height. I also noticed that the CFLs didn't emit much heat which is ideal for a smaller grow space like I had to use. You would also save money on electricity considering the bulbs are supposed to be energy efficient. Anyone feel free to correct me.
